Captain I.S. Derrick Christmas Party

Last Saturday was Mike's company Christmas party at Bill Bowes house. Let me just say that this house is just beautiful!! Mike had some elves come and paint the kids faces, put on magic shows, and made balloon animals for the kids. They were very entertaining for the kids (and the adults). The party was very nice (as always) and we cannot wait for next year!

Poppa and Omi gave Michelle her "big girl" bike that she has been wanting so badly!

We celebrated Michelle's birthday at home with a princess bouncer and a popcorn machine. The day was beautiful and she had so much fun with her friends and cousins! She received wonderful gifts that she is enjoying daily!

Michelle turns 4

Michelle blowing out a candle I put in her lunch and sang Happy Birthday!

Daddy's Girls!

We cannot believe that our baby is now 4!!
Michelle normally does not like to make a fuss over her birthday...WELL this year was different!!! Before she went to bed the night before her birthday she told Chris and I that on her birthday we cannot call her Mimi or Michelle....we should call Birthday Girl!! So I am putting here to bed that same night and she tells me that in the morning I probably won't recognize her because her hair and face will look like a 4 year old but not to worry it will still be Michelle!! All I could do was laugh and hug here at the same time. The morning of her birthday she wakes up at 8am (which is very late for her) and after I sang to her and called her BIRTHDAY GIRL I told her that she was a sleepy head on her birthday....she then tells me it is because she is 4!
The Birthday Girl and myself had a wonderful day together. I asked her what she would like for her birthday dinner and she said steak, mashed potatoes (from scratch) and corn. She had a great dinner, cake, and presents! When it came time for me to put her to bed I told my Birthday Girl goodnight and she informed me that I can call her Mimi or Michelle again!! Once again I laughed while hugging her.

We really had a wonderful visit with my family for Thanksgiving. The trip was a bit rough for Chris. He was suffering from a horrible viral infection pretty much the whole time. We thought about staying home so he could rest and get better but on Wednesday morning he said there is no way he is not going to bring the girls to see their grandparents! So we loaded everyone up and headed to Slidell. The moment we arrived Michelle told Paw-Paw that she wanted to have a camp out and roast marshmallows. Ask and you shall receive.....not five minutes after she made her request Paw-Paw had the fire pit going and they were roasting marshmallows.

Thanksgiving day was very nice. Mom and dad cooked a wonderful feast and we visited with my family on my mom's side. The girls were able to play with their cousin Hailey. Those girls ran mad the entire day and enjoyed every minute of it! We also celebrated Michelle's 4th birthday with my family on Thanksgiving. She received wonderful gifts and for the first time let us sing Happy Birthday to her without pouting with her hands over her eyes like the past years.

The day before we left the girls helped Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw put up their tree and decorate it. Last year they had all the ornaments placed right in front one on top the other but this year they spread them out all around the tree (Michelle would place hers right along side of Megan's). So I guess you could say we all had a great visit and always wish it could be longer!
